Hows Racesafe British Junior Team Announced
After a campaign of spring trials and the Hows Racesafe National Under-18 Championships at Glanusk, the Junior Selectors for Eventing have announced the squad of six for the Junior European Championships, taking place at Bad Segeberg in Germany over 19th – 22nd August 2010.
Heading the eventing line-up is 2009 Junior Individual Silver medallist Dani Evans with Heather Sheppard’s Uchin. Dani who is on the UK Sport funded World Class Development Programme has not been out of the top five in her last five outings in CCI1* with the consistent Uchin. The pair were runners-up at the recent National Under-18 Championships where they finished on the same score at the winner, but were further from the optimum time on the cross country pushing them into second.
Tattersalls CCI1* winner David Doel joins Dani with Emma Whitehead’s Pick and Mix II. The pair also took third place in the Under 18 Championships. Former KBIS Junior Regional Novice Champion, Lucy Loughton, also makes the squad. Lucy won the Championship at Weston Park last year riding Abigail III and is also on the World Class Equine Pathway.
Completing the six are 2009 Junior squad member Millie Dumas with Action Packed, 2008 Pony team rider Helen Dunning with Pebbly Flux and Tim Rogers with his home-bred horse Corrieview Owen who were eighth in the CCI2* at Houghton earlier in the year. Tim is also a member of the World Class Development Programme.
Millie, Helen, Lucy and David are all members of the BEF Regional Foundation Programme.
