Group Travel
Travelling in a group to the Games will require extra planning as the transport network will be busier than usual. Please ensure you plan your journey as early as possible and make sure you allow extra time. The London 2012 website contains information and tips for groups planning to travel to the games. We strongly advise sports groups to complete the following online survey so that we can plan to make your journey as smooth as possible. Booking your coach space
Private Charter Coach spaces are bookable for most of the Paralympics venues. Drop-off, pick-up times and park up spaces need to be booked directly by your Coach operator. Please check the London 2012 website for more information or the booking website
Please note: All coach spaces for the London 2012 Games need to be booked directly by your coach operator; spaces are in high demand and will be assigned on a first come first served basis. All drop off and pick up times as well as coach parking need to be booked in advance. Private vehicles will only be allowed to pick up and drop off in the designated areas around venues and not all venues have facilities for coach parking. In all cases a vehicle access permit (one per coach) will need to be obtained and displayed so that your coach can enter the site and allow passengers to disembark at one of the designated drop off points.
Minibus Travel
If you are planning to travel to your venue in your own sports club minibus there are a number of park-and-ride / park-and-walk car parks operating, which can be booked by visiting

Free Games Travelcard
Sports groups travelling to Games events at Excel and the Olympic Park will be issued with a Zone 1-9 London Travelcard in their Games Travel Pack. Games ticket holders for the outer London competition venues will also be able to use their Games Travelcard to travel between London and the following designated National Rail stations on the day of their event.
Be sure to plan your journey well in advance as there will be longer journey times and heavy congestion. We’d also be grateful if you could take time to complete our travel survey at London 2012

Accessibility
A range of options are available for people with accessibility needs, Blue Badge parking space is limited and must be booked in advance. If you are travelling by coach and have access requirements please detail this at the time of booking.

Top tips for sport groups travelling to the games:
1. Find the travel hot spots and avoid if possible
2. Plan ahead by visiting London 2012 and Get ahead of the games.
3. Consider all your travel options by using the London2012 Journey Planner
4. Avoid the busiest times if you can
5. Divide your large group into smaller groups and always arrange a meeting point.
6. Avoid arranging to meet at the entrance or exit to National Rail or London Underground stations,
7. Do not attempt to use one door to get all your group inside the train.
8. If you are travelling by train as part of a large group please notify your train operator in advance.
9. If you are travelling by Coach please ensure that you are at the pick-up point at the booked pick-up time.
