Last week saw three of our para-equestrian dressage hopefuls begin their 2012 international campaigns, when Natasha Baker, Sophie Christiansen and Deborah Criddle competed out at the CPEDI3* in Deauville, France. Sophie (Ia) and Natasha (II) dominated in their respective grades, both taking a hat trick of wins in their team, individual and freestyle tests whilst Deb Criddle posted wins in the grade III team and individual classes.

Sarah Cohen on Treason took the win in the Grantham Cup (CIC3*) at Belton Park International Horse Trials (30 March – 1 April), with top ten placings going to a further three British riders with Laura Collett (Noble Bestman) finishing 6th, Pippa Funnell (Mirage D’Elle) 7th and Lucy Wiegersma (Simon Porloe) 8th.

Last weekend (30 March – 1 April) saw the end of the Winter Equestrian Festival out in Florida. British riders have had a successful start to their 2012 campaign, with good results coming across the board; the final competition saw Nick Skelton’s ride Carlo pick up The Harrison Cup Perpetual Trophy, which was awarded to Beverley Widdowson for the second year running as the top owner.
