Sophie Wells, 20, a para-equestrian dressage rider from Newark has been nominated for Nottinghamshire Sports Awards 'Achievement of the Year'.
Sophie was part of the able-bodied British Young Rider team that competed at the European Championships earlier this summer, going on to compete at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky with Pinocchio later that year. Sophie returned from Kentucky with two gold medals from the individual and freestyle grade IV tests.
