Joanne Eccles leads a strong British contingent to the first FEI International Vaulting competition of the 2012 summer season, which is taking place in Saumur, France over the Easter weekend.
The competition includes a Nations Cup which Great Britain has won for the last two years and hopes to defend the title. This year the class format has changed slightly to come in line with the other disciplines, so there are now four in each Nations Cup team; three individual vaulters and a Squad.
FEI vaulting has had a lot of rule changes and a new scoring system for 2012, so this will be an interesting first experience of the new system for the squad. For two vaulters, they will be taking part in their first international competition, Rebecca Norval (15) and Meghan Clarke (14) will compete in the junior class, while both of the squads/teams have new members. It promises to be an exciting competition for both our experienced and up and coming talent!
Competing vaulters:
Senior Female: Joanne Eccles, Hannah Eccles, Lucy Phillips, Helen Anderson
Senior Male: George Cox
Junior Female: Elloise Cundy, Stacey Macpherson, Rebecca Norval and Meghan Clarke
Junior Male: Andrew McLachlan
Senior Squad: English vaulting Squad
