Weekend round-up: 11 June

Eventing

It was double delight for William Fox-Pitt this weekend as he won both the CIC3* and the CCI3* competitions over the weekend (8-11 June) at the Bramham International Horse Trials aboard Neuf Des Coeurs and Chilli Morning respectively.

The CCI3* win cemented his sixth Bramham title and gives William his 49th three day event victory. Second place went to Pippa Funnell (Mirage D’Elle) while Izzy Taylor (Briarlands Matilda) took third.

In the CIC3* Fox-Pitt finished on his dressage score of 38.7, ahead of New Zealnd’s Andrew Nicholson who took second on 42.0; while Zara Phillips with High Kingdom also finished on her dressage score of 42.3 to take third.

Dressage

Lingen saw a double win for Laura Bechtolsheimer and Mistral Hojris this weekend, as they topped both the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special with 78.38% and 77.556% respectively. Laura also took second place in both the Grand Prix for Kur and the Grand Prix Kur to Music with Andretti H, with 72.298% and 76.450%.

Meanwhile in Fritzens Carl won the Grand Prix for Special on Friday (8 June) with Uthopia on 77.34% (also taking the Prix St Georges with Dances with Wolves on 74.632%), while Emile Faurie finished 4th on 72.70%, Emma Hindle took 5th with 68.72% and Henriette Andersen 7th with 66.93%.

Carl also finished second with Uthopia in the Olympic Grand Prix Special, on 74.356%
