Vaulting
Joanne Eccles successfully retained her World individual female vaulting champion title in Le Mans, France this weekend (16-19th August), with Joanne alongside sister Hannah also winning Silver in the Pas De Deux. Joanne led throughout the four rounds of her individual female class and won by a comfortable margin rarely seen at championships (nearly 0.5), finishing on 8.499. In the Pas de Deux competition the Eccles sisters on WH Bentley went on to win Silver, in a very closely fought class. The sisters produced a very smooth fluent routine to finish second, adding to the Silver medal they won at the European Championships last year.

Showjumping
The British riders finished in 3rd place at the Dublin Nations Cup this weekend (17-19th August), resulting in overall 4th place in the final 2012 Nations Cup standings, just one point behind Ireland. Nick Skelton, fresh from his team gold medal winning performance in London, collected 16 first-round faults with Carlo. However the Brits, were still threatening when heading into round two with just five faults picked up by Robert Smith and Voila, after both Tina Fletcher (Hello Sailor) and John Whitaker (Argento) left all the poles in place.

The FEI Children, Junior and Young Rider European Championships at Magna Racino (13-19th August) in Austria saw Great Britain’s Junior team secure Team Bronze in an incredibly hard fought competition. Representing Great Britain on the team of four were Chloe Aston riding Kolibri Classic, Tom Wilks riding Mare Spirit VIII, Abby Newbery riding Valentino VII, and Jake Saywell riding Cornelius 27. Abby Newbery then went on to take the individual Bronze medal; she was just one of three competitors that went clear in each of the five rounds of competition.

Driving
The British driving team had a successful competition at the World Driving four-in-hand Championships in Riesenbeck, Germany, finishing in 8th place overall. The team of three representing Great Britain included Pippa Basset in who finished in 18th place, with Georgina Hunt in 25th and Daniel Naprous in 45th.
