British CICO Nations Cup team head to Poland

24th Jun 2014

The quartet of competitors to represent Britain at this weekend’s FEI Nations Cup competition at Strzegom has now been confirmed (POL, 26 - 29 June 2014);

  • Sarah Bullimore, aged 41 from Keysoe, Bedfordshire, riding Christopher Gillespie and her own Valentino V.
  • Ros Canter, aged 28 from Louth, Lincolnshire, riding her own Zenshera.
  • Katy Hurst, aged 32 from Grimsby, Lincolnshire, riding Weston IV
  • Nicky Roncoroni, aged 35 from Cirencester, Gloucestershire, riding Watts Burn owned by Lorna McWilliams and Janey Barclay Roncoroni.

The GB team are now in joint lead with France in the Nations Cup rankings on 27 points after the first three competitions of the series.

Team Manager Philip Surl commented on the team; “We have a good team en route to Poland for the next leg of the Nations Cup competition this weekend. Ros has already shown a lot of promise this season gaining top five results at Nations Cup competitions so far whilst Sarah and Nicky have posted numerous placings individually at three star competitions this season. Katy Hurst joins us for the first time this week, she has already cut her teeth representing Britain at two star level [3rd in the 2013 CIC2* Championships at Laintal, Austria] so it will be interesting to see how she makes the step up this weekend. I think these horses are well suited to the course there; we always expect the tracks at Strzegom to be very intense with many combinations coming up quickly one after the other.”
