Brits head to Lyon

The Longines FEI World Cup Final is now just over two weeks away and will see some of the best showjumpers on the world descend on Lyon in the hope of picking up one of the most coveted titles on offer.

France last played host to the World Cup Jumping Final some twenty six years ago and it is with great excitement that they are hosting it again at the prestigious Eurexpo Halls in Lyon. From 17-21 April, the qualifying riders who, having qualified during the course of the 2013-2014  season across the global leagues will all come together to battle it out together.

Of the four British riders that qualified, two will be going forward to contest the Final. World No.1 ranked rider Scott Brash MBE who finished in second place on the Western European World Cup League will be taking Hello Ursula XII, a bay mare owned by Lady Kirkham and Lord & Lady Harris. Michael Whitaker will be taking his own Viking V, a 12 year-old chesnut gelding.

Ben Maher, Tim Gredley and Joe Clee, whom were also qualified and eligible for the Final will not be attending . Previous British winners of the World Cup Final include John Whitaker in 1990 and 1991 along with Nick Skelton and Dollar Girl in 1995.
