Longines FEI World Cup CSI5*-W, Verona
The fourth round of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup 2015/2016 series took place over the weekend in Italy, where a thrilling finale saw France’s Simon Delestre (Hermes Ryan) scoop the win and the coverted prize in a fifteen combination jump-off.
Henrik von Eckermann (Cantinero) of Sweden took second, with Germany’s Ludger Beerbaum (Chaman) and GBR’s Scott Brash riding Hello M’Lady, owned by Lady Kirkham, sharing the third place spoils.
Scott also finished a fourth in Sunday’s Longines Rankings 1.60m class with Hello Annie, owned by Lady Kirkham and Lady Harris, with the win going to Italy’s Filippo Moyersoen (Loro Piana Canada).
Jumping International de la Province de Liege CSI4*, Belgium
The Whitakers’s enjoyed a good weekend out in Liege, with Robert Whitaker taking the win in the Prix RTL TVI 1.40m class with Hold On Tight II, after a double clear finishing 0.68 seconds ahead of the hosts own Christophe Vanderhasselt.
John Whitaker took second in Friday’s 1.50m class with Argento, owned by Clare Whitaker, after a great jump-off saw them just 0.46 seconds behind Switzerland’s Romain Duguet. It was a similar story on Sunday in the 1.60m Grand Prix class; riding Argento, the combination once again finished second after posting a double clear after an eight rider jump-off, as the win went to Belgium’s Niels Bruynseels.

U23 British Championship qualifier, Addington Manor
Emily Ward, member of the UK Sport National Lottery funded World Class Podium Potential Programme, claimed the top spot this weekend at the penultimate qualifier of the 2015 Dodson & Horrell and the World Class Programme Under 23 Championship series.
Indoor Wierden CSI2*, The Netherlands
World Class Podium Potential Programme member Louise Saywell took third place this weekend at the Dutch show, with some competitive riding in the 1.40m class on Friday. Aboard Pepper Corn, owned by Hermann Tieben, there was just 0.04 seconds separating them from second placed Bart van der Maat.
Mediterranean Equestrian Tour CSI2*, Spain
The Oliva Autumn Tour saw some good results from British riders, with notable wins and top three placings coming for Chloe Aston in the Gold series, taking first place in the 1.45m class on Friday with Kolibri Classic (owned by Mrs J Aston). Other British riders posting impressive results from the 2* show included Tim Stockdale, Matthew Sampson, Geoff Luckett and Jamie Wingrove.
Costa Del Sol Autumn Cup CSI2*, Spain
Britain’s Alice Watson enjoyed numerous top placings this weekend at the Spanish show in the 1.45m and 1.40m classes, with two wins aboard the ten year old mare Billy Lemon. Laura Robinson enjoyed a win with Jonti in Thursday’s 1.45m class, with good results also recorded for Kirsten Deakin and Anna Edwards.

Lier CDI4*, Belgium

Alex Hardwick, member of the UK Sport National Lottery funded World Class Podium Potential Programme, posted some good results out at the 4* this weekend in the U25 Intermediate class. Placing third with Donauwein (owned by Sally Harwdick) on Saturday with 69.8%, the pair finished fifth in Sunday’s U25 Grand Prix with 67.5%. Elsewhere at the show, Charlotte Fry recorded a fourth placing in the Young Rider Freestyle with Z Flemmenco (owned by R Shewen).
