CIC4* Royal Windsor Horse Show, Great Britain:
John Whitaker enjoyed a brilliant ride with his horse, Argento as the pair finished second in Sunday’s four star Grand Prix. The British combination were one of just four combinations to complete a double clear but the American, Kent Farrington pipped him to first place by just over a second with a time of 38.45 seconds. Tim Stockdale and Laura Renwick also finished inside the top ten, placing seventh and ninth respectively.
In the Falcon Stakes competition, Laura Renwick topped the leaderboard with Heliodor Hybris, owned by Mr Colin Bates. The pair produced a double clear and made it home in a time of 26.82. Robert Smith (Ilton) and John Whitaker (Lord of Arabia) also produced double clears, finishing in fourth and fifth place. Renwick also recorded another double clear in the 1.55m class with her horse, Bintang II, finishing fourth just ahead of Joseph Davison and Calimero Van´T Roth.
There were plenty of other fantastic results across the weekend. Guy Williams was top in the Manama Speed Stakes with Casper De Muze, Robert and John Whitaker made up a British one-two in the Bahrain Pear Stakes and Maja Burnell topped the table with Crona Cr in the Royal Windsor Grand Prix in a British packed top five featuring Tess Carmichael (Atlantis Pp Z), Scarlett Charles (Sacree Du Rouet) and Sienna Charles (Chaitanya 2) .
Elsewhere in the Accumulator class, Robert Smith finished second with Cimano E, owned by Mrs Rebecca Ravilious after recording a time of 42.38 seconds but were edged into second place by France’s Adeline Hecart and Question D´Orval who finished just a hundredth of a second quicker.
In the driving, Wilf Bowman-Ripley finished the highest placed British competitor in the horse four-in-hand class in ninth place; the win went to Australia’s Boyd Exell, with The Netherlands’ Jan De Boer taking the top place in the pony four-in-hand event.
The CEI2* 120km endurance ride saw Carri Ann Dark finish the highest placed British rider in eighteenth place, finishing the course in just over six and a half hours; first place went to Saif Ahmed Al Mozroui.
CIC3* Chatsworth International Horse Trials, Great Britain:
Gemma Tattersall carried her fine form from Badminton into the Chatsworth International Horse Trials, to finish fourth in the first leg of the Event Rider Masters series. Aboard Quicklook, owned by The Pebbles Syndicate, the British combination ended the weekend with a score of 47.1 penalties whilst France’s Astier Nicolas took first place with Piaf De Bneville finishing with 45 penalties.
It was also a fruitful weekend for Izzy Taylor who recorded two podium finishes, as she took second place in the one star section G class with Joe Boggon’s Bugbrooke whilst placing third with Direct Cassino, owned by Jocelyn Riley in the one star section e another event.
CSIO5* La Baule, France:
Nick Skelton and Big Star returned to team action in style recording a double clear in out at La Baule at the showjumping Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup competition. Good performances were produced from the British team with Joe Clee (Utamaro D Ecaussines, owned by Joe Clee & Ludwig Criel ), Ben Maher (Diva II, owned by Ben Maher & Tatiana Korsakova) and Michael Whitaker (Cassionato, owned by Mrs Beverley Widdowson). Great Britain finished in sixth place with The Netherlands taking first place. The team recorded just four faults in total from the first round with Nick, Joe and Michael all jumping clear and the team were unfortunate in the second round picking up a handful of faults across the board.

CSI3* Béthune, France:
Some good results were produced by British athletes competing out in France over the weekend, with top placings secured by Jessie Drea (Javas Wild Child) in the 1.45m class, Harriet Nuttall (Silver Lift) in the 1.40m class and a second placing for Joe Whitaker and Lola V in Saturday’s 1.45m Grand Prix class.
The show concludes this afternoon with the 1.50m Grand Prix class.
CDIO3* Odense, Denmark:
Richard and Gillian Davison recorded top ten finishes in the Grand Prix Special out in Odense. Aboard Bubblingh, owned by Mrs G Meyer, Mr R Davison and Ms J Ellis, Richard finished with a mark of 67.39% to finish eighth whilst Gillian and her horse, Alfranco finished tenth with 67.35%.
Both Richard and Gillian, alongside Emily Kate Cousins and Bobby Hayler will be competing later today in the FEI Nations Cup team competition, which concludes this afternoon. Great Britain currently lie in sixth place.
CIC2* Floors Castle Horse Trials, Great Britain:
18 year-old Sam Ecroyd just missed out on top spot in the two star eventing competition finishing second with Opera House, owned by Penelope Ecroyd. The British combination finished just behind Germany’s Pia Munker and Stachus 9, whilst Oliver Towend took third, fourth and fifth place with his rides (Sandiman II, Ridire Dorcha and Ballaghmor Class).
