Following a final trial at Aston-le-Walls last weekend, and subsequent trot up, the selectors of the Racesafe British Junior team have named their squad. This year's European Championships take place at Bishop Burton College in Yorkshire from 14th - 17th August, and being on home soil means that 12 combinations can be selected.
Anna Wilks and Emily King return for a second shot at a Junior Medal, having placed 1st and 2nd respectively at the Aston-le-Walls trial. Emily is in the fortunate position of having two horses named. Third and fourth placed Harriet Upton and Kristina Hall-Jackson are also listed.
Ginnie Keen, Chairman of the British Junior Selectors, said: “We, the selectors, are very excited with the Racesafe British European Squad. All those on the long list from Barbury have done incredibly well and it is sad that not everyone can go forward to the Championships.
“I would like to thank all the parents and friends, Racesafe, British Eventing, the World Class Programme and the Horse Trials Support Group for all their dedication and support so far. We now all have to focus and work very hard to keep the medals here in the UK.”
