Earlier this morning the jumping Horse Inspection took place up in the Olympic Equestrian Centre in Deodoro. The horse inspection precedes the first round of the competition, which gets underway on Sunday (14 August), with the first Individual Qualifying round.

The British team of Ben Maher (Tic Tac, owned by Jane Forbes Clark), Nick Skelton (Big Star, owned by Beverley Widdowson), John Whitaker (Ornellaia, owned by Team Harmony Management Co Ltd), Michael Whitaker (Cassionato, owned by Beverley Widdowson) and travelling reserve Jessica Mendoza (Spirit T, owned by Sarah Mendoza), saw their equine athletes all pass the trot-up, with the team of four set to take to the arena tomorrow for training.

Timings for Sunday’s Qualifying event will be released in due course.
