Patron of the British Equestrian Federation, HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, will be hosting a reception at Clarence House on 24 January 2017 to celebrate the achievements of equestrian athletes at last summer’s Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The reception will see athletes, owners and support staff presented to Her Royal Highness during an evening of celebration, as we look back on a magical summer of sport. Recently knighted Sir Lee Pearson; Paralympic triple Rio gold medallists Sophie Christiansen CBE and Natasha Baker MBE; dressage team silver medallist Fiona Bigwood; and eventer William Fox-Pitt will be among those attending the reception. Representatives from Team GB, ParalympicsGB and UK Sport will also attend.

We are immensely proud of the GB equestrian teams’ success in Rio and this reception will be a wonderful way to celebrate our athlete’s successes and to start our journey to Tokyo 2020.”
Rio 2016 saw some fantastic results from the GB equestrian teams, with nine gold medals and five silver medals achieved. At the Paralympic Games the para-dressage team maintained its unbeaten track record, as it secured yet another team gold, alongside ten individual medals, making Rio the most successful Games to-date.
