Munich Indoors 2014 CSI3*, Germany

John Whitaker secured a big win at the Munich Indoor show this weekend taking the Grand Prix title on board Mr and Mrs Whitaker’s Argento. A double clear in a time of 40.47 seconds saw the combination finish over a second ahead of runner up Denis Lynch and Quote Zavaan for Ireland. Continuing his good form John picked up fifth place in the Zeitspringprüfung 1.45m on the Old Lodge owned Lord of Arabia, after posting a clear round in a time of 48.06 seconds.

Verona Longines FEI World Cup CSI5*-W, Italy

Ben Maher enjoyed a successful weekend at the Italian World Cup show, taking third place in the 1.50m class on the Stone Ridge Farms LLC owned Wings Sublime. The combination produced a clear round in a time of 56.93 seconds to finish just behind the Belgium winner, Niels Bruynseels, and second placed Katharina Offel of Ukraine.  Ben and Wings Sublime also picked up a fourth placing with another fast clear round in the 1.45m speed class.

UK Sport National Lottery funded World Class Development Programme rider William Whitaker placed well in the 1.55m class on Elisan AB’s Fandango, a double clear with a quick jump-off time of 39.97 seconds was enough to secure them a fourth place finish.

CSI2* Oliva Autumn Tour 2014, Spain

There were lots of British riders in action during the third week of the Autumn Tour which included an exciting win for the UK Sport National Lottery funded World Class Development Programme rider Jessica Mendoza. Riding Mr John Roberts and Mrs Sarah Mendoza’s bay mare Spirit T, Jessica posted a double clear in a jump-off time of 42.12 seconds to take the win in the Gold 4 Grand Prix.  Just 0.34 seconds separated first and second place as fellow World Class Development Programme rider Spencer Roe claimed the runner up spot on Mrs S Roe’s Wonder Why.

CSI2* Equestrian Tour Costa del Sol, Spain

Laura Renwick enjoyed another good weekend at the Costa de Sol Tour, taking first place in the Master Tour 1.40m on Mr John Renwick and Mrs Marian Renwick’s mare Beluga, the pair posted a double clear in a quick jump-off time of just 39.12 seconds. Continuing her success Laura went on to take second place in the Master Tour Grand Prix, with Eduardo Alvarez Aznar taking the win for Spain on Fidux. Riding Mr Colin Bates’ Heliodor Hybris Laura produced a double clear jumping round stopping the clock in a jump-off time of 33.83 seconds to take home second place.

Dodson and Horrell and the World Class Programme Under 23 British Championship qualifier, Addinton Manor Equestrian Centre, Buckinghamshire

It was a win for Gareth Gillespie at the penultimate qualifier of the hotly contested Dodson and Horrell and the World Class ProgrammeUnder 23 British Championship. Riding Ashlee Harrison’s Linnea Ask, the combination produced a double clear to take the lead ahead of second placed UK Sport National Lottery funded World Class Development Programme rider Abigale Newbery and Sharifa Al-Homaizi’s Valentino VII.
