Team Staff

Nina Venables trained initially at Catherston Stud with Jennie Loriston-Clarke and looked after Dutch Gold during his Olympic year. She spent some time training in Europe and returned to England to work in a private dressage yard, competing at Young Rider level and benefiting from some of the first BRYDS training initiated by BD.Nina then became self employed, teaching a variety of clients in Somerset and training her own horse from Novice to Inter I level. During one teaching session in 1999, Nina met Deb Criddle and offered her horse, Figaro, to Deb for Para Equestrian Dressage competitions. This proved to be a very successful partnership culminating in 3 gold medals at the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004. Figaro retired from Para Equestrian competitions after Athens but made a comeback for the World Championships at Hartpury in 2007.

Nina has been a part of the very successful GB Para Equestrian Dressage team for nine years and has been a coach for the World Class Development Para Equestrian Dressage Squad since 2005.
