Reserve: Izzy Palmer
Izzy began riding when she was two as a form of physiotherapy, having been diagnosed with cerebral palsy causing right sided hemiplegia; she started to compete dressage aged 11, when she got her first pony, Dunkie. Inspired by London 2012, Izzy began competing para-dressage in 2013 and won a talent development competition at the Festival of Dressage at Vale View, and went on to compete at Hickstead, BYRDS Home International and the national championships.
Izzy began training with her mentor Sophie Wells in 2013. A member of the World Class Podium Potential Programme since 2014, and a former BEF Excel Talent Programme squad member, 2017 has seen some fantastic results for the combination including a first placing in Deauville at the CPEDI3* event in April.
