He has been one of the mainstays of the British team since the 1980’s and has represented Great Britain at the past two major international competitions, the 2014 World Equestrian Games and last year’s European Championships, where he partnered his 2016 ride Cassionato and helped the British team secure Olympic qualification.

He first competed at an Olympic Games in 1984 in Atlanta, where he secured a team silver medal. He has also won prestigious titles such as the King George V Gold Cup and the Hickstead Derby, which he has won a total four times.

Michael has been competing with Cassionato since the latter part of 2013, and the duo have enjoyed good results out on the Global Champions Tour and were part of the winning team out at the Furusiyya Nations Cup in Rome.
