William Whitaker

William spent a lot of childhood around horses and at the age of 8 he started competing in jumping on ponies. Four years later, he won his first of three pony titles at the Horse of the Year.

He won Individual Gold at the Junior European Championships in 2006 and he then won European Team Gold as a young rider in 2007.

After finishing school he spent a stint in America training with showjumper, Aaron Vale and then worked at his uncle's [Michael Whitaker] yard before he brought his own yard in 2011.

As a senior rider, William has been selected for a number of Great Britain's Nations Cup teams and this year he was picked for teams at Roeser and Hickstead. This will be his first time representing his country at a major championship.
