Kate PhD, C. Psychol is a Chartered Sport and Exercise Psychologist who has worked in Olympic sport for over 10 years. She has supported GB teams at four Olympic Games across both summer and winter sports, and with the BOA as their HQ Psychologist at the Holding Camp in Macau in 2008.
Kate is new to equestrian having only joined the team since the start of 2013, following her role with the EIS supporting GB Canoeing at London 2012. She also has a PhD in Athlete Burnout.
Kate's current practice stems from a model based in neuroscience and in simple terms works with what we know about the structure of the brain and how it operates. This particular approach has been synonymous with the success of British Cycling and is now being employed across a range of settings away from sport including business, education and public health; it is called 'Chimp Management'.
