Rod Fisher

Para-Equestrian Dressage Team Vet

Rod Fisher was Team Vet for the British Endurance Team from 1989 to 2001 before being appointed Team Vet to the highly successful British Para- Equestrian Dressage Team in 2002.  He is a regular FEI Vet at 3-Day Events and Endurance competitions. Recently he has been appointed Independent Governance Advisor to the FEI   

Rod graduated from the University of Bristol Veterinary School and worked in general veterinary practice in Abergavenny, South Wales, before moving to equine practice in Queensland, Australia. He returned to Abergavenny in 1979 to develop Abbey Equine Clinic from which he retired as Director in 2016.

Rod developed an interest in equine sports medicine including the problems, particularly metabolic, that are largely unique to endurance competition horses. He has published on a variety of veterinary subjects.

Rod has competed successfully in Point to Points and Team Chasing events.
