We’ve had a busy and long day today with three disciplines in action; para-dressage, jumping and vaulting.

First to go in the morning was Natasha who added another medal to our tally after a great performance in a hotly contested Grade III individual test, claiming silver with Mount St John Diva Dannebrog whilst Erin made her world championship debut with Dior and narrowly missed out on the freestyle. Tomorrow is the first part of the team test with Sophie competing in the Grade V and Lee in the Grade II before Natasha and Erin return to action on Friday to round off the team competition.

Our showjumpers - Will, Will, Holly and Amanda, started their WEG campaigns in the speed competition and produced some solid rounds to put the team in a good place for the next competition round tomorrow, the Team and Individual Second Competition (Round 1). Friday will see the Team medals decided.

Finally our vaulters flew into the night in the Nations Cup Team competition. The squad have progressed into the final round, which is on Saturday; unfortunately for Rebecca and Lucy their competition journey ends here.

Away from competition, the packing operation has already started! The accommodation of the departed grooms is being vacated as well as the stables of the departed horses, including the eventing world champions who left yesterday. Saddle racks, bridle hooks, wheel barrows, water buckets – these are just some of the things that we are packing back into Malcolm – our 20ft 10 year old container that is fitted out to transform into working physio room through the Games. We are also have some left over feed from the horses last week and we will be looking to donate to a local equine charity here in North Carolina.

Our fleet of volunteers are continuing to do a fantastic job transporting our athletes, staff and owners to and from the venue in our mini-buses that have been affectionately named: Denzel, Geoff, Josephine and Veronica! These guys have been a joy to be around and help to keep a smile on everyone’s faces, even when we are working into the night!
