We nailed it!

What an amazing day in the office! Words cannot express the joy/happiness/relief/pride in the Team GBR camp this evening following the incredible eventing medal haul. All the riders/owners/team management left this evening, leaving the grooms to enjoy and incredibly well deserved celebration.  The horses leave tomorrow and will be accompanied on the flight by Liz brown, our eventing team vet.

The showjumpers did their schooling first thing this morning prior to their horse inspection – which was slightly delayed by the eventing medal ceremony. All looked very smart in their FALPRO England fly sheets prior to the inspection and passed with flying colours. They have their final training session tomorrow afternoon before getting down to business on Wednesday.

The para-dressage squad all looked excellent at their horse inspection this morning all very smartly kitted out – and passed with honours! They had the final arena familiarisation at 5pm – just as it was starting to cool down very slightly. Tomorrow kicks off their competition with Individual events and medals up for grabs in the Grade IV, II and V (GBR will contest II and V, with Lee Pearson and Sophie Wells getting their campaigns underway).

Our vaulting squad had a practice session in the Indoor School this afternoon after passing their Horse Inspection – again with gold stars!  They have Squad and Individual Female Compulsory tests tomorrow, good luck to all!

The eventing and endurance horses leave tomorrow afternoon, as does our reining horse.

Very remiss not to have applauded until now the great team of volunteers we have driving our minibuses, ensuring our athletes, staff and owners get to and from the venue; huge thanks for a sterling job! During yesterday's eventing, it was fantastic to see so many Union flags being waved from the stands, and the huge applause for our athletes; thanks to the army of British fans who have travelled out to Tryon for the Games, and to everyone who has been cheering the team on at home, it has been a great boost for the team to see and hear your support!
