British Showjumping has announced the squad which will represent Great Britain in the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ of France CSIO5* (16 – 19 May) under title sponsor banner Team NAF. The team heading to La Baule, France to compete in the first point scoring leg of the series for the British Team in Europe Division One, consists of Harry Charles, William Funnell, Holly Smith, Michael Whitaker and James Wilson.
Harry, son of Olympian Peter Charles MBE will be competing either ABC Quantum Cruise, a ten year-old bay gelding owned by his father or Lordanos Junior, a 12 year-old bay stallion owned by Hill House Equine Ltd. William, is also yet to confirm his ride and will be competing either Billy Buckingham, an 11 year-old gelding owned by The Billy Stud or Billy Diamo, a nine year-old chestnut gelding also owned by The Billy Stud.
Holly, who alongside William competed in Tryon in the World Equestrian Games last year, will be competing Hearts Destiny, a ten year-old British bred bay gelding owned by T J Hall Limited, Graham Smith and Holly. Olympian Michael will ride Strides Hilanasterne, a 12 year-old bay mare owned by Wendy Clements and fellow team mate James will compete Imagine de Muze, an 11 year-old black mare owned by Susan Larson.
The Chef d’Equipe accompanying the squad will be World Class Performance Manager for Showjumping, Di Lampard. The Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ of France CSIO5* takes place on Friday 17 May at 2:00pm local time and the Longines de la Ville de La Baule Grand Prix will be on Sunday 19 May at 1:00pm local time.
