Charles Owen GBR Pony shortlist confirmed

The Charles Owen British Pony Programme Selectors are delighted to announce the final squad of six riders who will represent Britain to defend their double gold medal titles at the 2014 FEI Pony European Championships at Millstreet (IRL), 30 July-3 August.

The short list for the 2014 Charles Owen sponsored Pony squad is as follows in reverse alphabetical order:

Oliver Williams 14, from Denbighshire riding Bobnamara, a 10 year old gelding (unknown breeding) owned by Ellie Williams.

Isabelle Upton 15, from Suffolk riding either Alfie XI (14 year old gelding of unknown breeding) or Howen Loganberry (12 year old gelding by Faircross Sunrise), both ponies are owned by the rider.

Thomas Tulloch 15, from Shropshire riding Jancis Tulloch's Spirit VI, a 16 year old gelding (unknown breeding).

Chelsea Pearce 15, from Wiltshire riding Little Indian Feather (nine year old mare of unknown breeding) or Catherston Nutsafe (18 year old mare by Catherston Nightsafe), both owned by Chelsea Pearce.

Phoebe Locke 14, from Somerset riding her own  Mr Otto, a 14 year old gelding (unknown breeding).

Chloe Bell 16, from North Yorkshire riding Helen Bell's Strawberry Box, a 12 year old gelding (unknown breeding).

Reserves in alphabetical order;

Hector Baker 16, from Gloucestershire riding his own Mohill Gypsy, a 10 year old gelding (unknown breeding).

Felicity Collins 16, from East Sussex riding her own The Royal Guest, a 10 year old mare (unknown breeding).

The team of four will be confirmed at the Championships at the discretion of the Charles Owen Pony Squad Selectors, their decision is final.

In addition to supporting Equestrian Team GBR, the UK Sport funded World Class Programme also contributes to British Eventing Young Rider, Junior and Pony Teams, to help them prepare for the Championships and deliver medals.
