Georgia Wilson and Midnight may have been contesting their first senior championships, but you wouldn't have believed it from their assured performance in the Grade II individual test this morning. Under the eye of trainer Sophie Wells, who admitted to feeling nervous as her pupil entered the white board, the pair pulled off a score of 73.47%, which earned them a silver medal – Britain's first of the championships.

Mari Durward-Akhurst and Sky O'Hara were the other British combination to compete today, this time in Grade I. The jumping kicked off this afternoon with the speed class, which decides the rankings for the first round of the team competition tomorrow. The stand-out performance came from Ben Maher and Explosion, who pulled off a fast clear round to land them third place individually.
