Great Britain’s World Championships Eventing Long-List Announced
The British Equestrian Federation confirmed the long-listed and reserve combinations selected by the British Eventing senior selectors for the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon, North Carolina, which ran from 11 to 23 September 2018.
The Long-List
The athletes named on the long-list, in alphabetical order, were:
- Sarah Bullimore with Reve Du Rouet
- Ros Canter with Allstar B, and with Zenshera
- Laura Collett with Mr Bass
- Tina Cook with Billy The Red
- Piggy French with Quarrycrest Echo, and with Vanir Kamira
- Kitty King with Ceylor L A N
- Tom McEwen with Toledo de Kerser
- Harry Meade with Away Cruising
- Gemma Tattersall with Arctic Soul
- Oliver Townend with Ballaghmor Class, with Cooley Master Class, and with Cooley SRS
- Nicola Wilson with Bulana
Reserve Combinations
The reserve combinations announced, in alphabetical order, were:
- Alex Bragg with Zagreb
- Emilie Chandler with Coopers Law
- William Fox-Pitt with Little Fire
- Kitty King with Vendredi Biats
- Imogen Murray with Ivar Gooden
- Gemma Tattersall with Pamero 4
The Road to Selection
A total of 15 combinations were to be submitted to the FEI as the nominated entries on 13 August 2018, with all combinations required to maintain their current form to remain on the long-list ahead of the Championships. The squad of five was due to be announced at the beginning of August.
Eventing Performance Manager Richard Waygood MBE welcomed the depth of the group. “It is fantastic to have such a strong group of combinations long-listed for this year’s World Championships,” he said. “There have been some impressive performances across the board so far this season and I’m very excited to be working with such a superb group of athletes.”
