Badminton winner joins team for opening leg of 2019 Nations Cups series

17th May 2019

The Saracen Horse Feeds Houghton International Horse Trials, running 23—26 May at Houghton Hall in Norfolk, will once again play host to the first leg of the FEI Eventing Nations Cup series.

Spearheading the British team off the back of her recent success at the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials will be World Championship gold medallist, Piggy French. She brings forward the talented Cooley Monsoon, owned by comedian and actress Jennifer Saunders, in his first call-up for Team GBR.

Joining Piggy are three horse and rider combinations making their first senior team appearances:

• Richard Coney riding his own and Wendy Coney’s Kananaskis
• Eliza Stoddart riding the Flint Syndicate’s Dick O Malley
• Bubby Upton riding Amy O’Connor and Rachel Upton’s Fernhill Rock Star

Great Britain are the defending champions of the FEI Nations Cup, after notching up a total of 94 points across last year’s series.
