Volunteering at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games

The organising committee of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games opened recruitment for volunteers to help run the equestrian disciplines. The opportunity was open to those with some equestrian experience, a commitment to hard work and a strong team spirit.

Volunteer Dates

Volunteer activities for the Olympic Games were scheduled to run from 13 July to 12 August, with a second phase for the Paralympic Games from 16 August to 3 September.

How to Register

Applicants were directed to register through the official Tokyo 2020 volunteer site. The process involved the following steps:

  • Review the general explanation of conditions and what would be provided on the Tokyo 2020 volunteer site.
  • Log in to the volunteer registration portal and complete the registration form.
  • At Step Four, enter the equestrian competition code in the “Add more” field: SPT092632 for the Olympics or SPT092633 for the Paralympics, with no spaces or additional characters.
  • After completing registration, send the seven-digit volunteer registration number and applicant name to the equestrian volunteering contact address provided by the organising committee.

Deadline

The deadline for application submissions was Friday 7 February 2020, with web interviews scheduled to be held from the middle of February. An FAQ page covering the volunteering role was made available to assist applicants.
