The channel will show two of the most popular classes of the week – the 1.50m Grandstand Trophy and the thrilling TAGG Puissance, where show jumpers have to clear the increasingly huge red wall.
H&C will be showing a selection of highlights and competition live from 9pm to 11pm on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th October. We will also be showing edited highlights of both competitions later in October.
“HOYS is evidence of our commitment to bringing more and more live equestrian sports coverage to the UK audience,” said H&C’s managing director Richard Burdett. “In the past few months the channel has broadcast live coverage of the Hickstead Derby and all three legs of the Rolex Grand Slam. We’re delighted to be adding HOYS and the legendary TAGG Puissance to this iconic list.”
Helena Pettit, managing director of Grandstand Media Ltd, said: “We are delighted to offer viewers the chance to be part of the action at HOYS this year via Horse & Country TV. Whilst nothing can compare to the atmosphere of being at a live event, for those that can’t physically be there live television allows viewers to still be involved.”
Horse of the Year Show runs from Wednesday 7th to Sunday 11th October, featuring top class showing, national and international show jumping and an array of stunning equestrian displays. For tickets and timetables, visit www.hoys.co.uk.
Horse & Country is available on Sky 253 in the UK and Ireland, and online at play.horseandcountry.tv
The channel is also available in The Netherlands, Sweden and Australia, and will launch in Germany this autumn.
