Longines Global Champions Tour, CSI5* Cannes, France

Following an outstanding performance during the fifth leg of the Global Champions Tour, World number one, Scott Brash, claimed top spot in the 1.60m Grand Prix. Brash piloted Lord and Lady Harris and Lady Kirkman’s, Hello Sacntos, to a faultless three rounds of competition and posted a jump-off time of 31.99 seconds to take a 0.69 second advantage over Portugal’s Luciana Diniz.

Brash statred the French show in good form by taking second place in Friday’s 1.50m speed class on Hello Annie, also owned by Lady Kirkham & Lady Harris. The top ranked rider posted a time of 62.62 seconds just 1.12 seconds ahead of fellow Brit Ben Maher on Diva II. World number two, Maher, rode Mrs Liz Edgar’s chestnut mare, Diva II, to third place in Friday’s class following success earlier in the week in Thursday’s 1.50m speed class where he finished fourthh on the Stone Ridge Farms LLC’s, Wings Sublieme.

Bolesworth CSI3*International, Chester, Great Britain

The new British CSI3* show proved a big success as riders from several nations were represented at the first running of the international competition.  UK Sport funded World Class Development Programme rider, William Whitaker and Upperclass, took top honours in Sunday’s Redrow Grand Prix, coming just days after the combination’s first grand prix win together at Bethune in France.  Elizabeth Fredlund’s bay gelding, Upperclass, produced a double clear in a jump-off time of 52.55 seconds to take the win over Nick Skelton on Mr J. Hales stallion, Aristio.

Numerous top results came from British riders at the Cheshire based show including Sport England funded BEF Excel Talent Programme rider, Holly Gillott, who came away with two top ten placings on Vanessa Alford’s, Vinny Douglas.

Current world champion Joanne Eccles heads up an experienced British Vaulting line-up, alongside her sister, Hannah Eccles and current English senior female champion Lucy Phillips.
