I was born in Leicestershire to a horse-mad mum (Amanda) and have ridden for as long as I can remember! My first competitive memory was with a 12.2 called Skater. We had lots of fun and he certainly did teach me the highs and lows of competing from an early age!

It wasn’t until my husband Graham and I found Dougie Douglas at the horse sales in Gorgesbrige, that my career reached a real high point for me when I was 20 years old, representing my Country on the Nations Cup teams.

Dougie Douglas & another purchase from the sales Quarryquest Echo were bought for 5800 euro each (now my lucky number!!) I couldn’t do it without the support of Graham, he has an exceptional eye for young raw horse talent and has given me so much confidence to go out there and have a go, it just wouldn’t be possible without him.

It so nice to see these two horses still competing at top level (Quarryquest Echo won Gold at WEG on the Eventing Team) having been produced from a young age with myself. It certainly helps he has a background and interest in horses. He’s been National team chase champion for 5 years running, and now runs the Readyfield bloodhounds from home.

My first championship was at WEG, it an amazing experience, I loved every minute and so did Ted (Heart’s Destiny). He always lives up to the occasion, he is talented, beautiful, and he knows it! He is the softest horse to handle, but is easily excited!

Fruselli is very affectionate, almost human! It's sometimes too much effort for him to hold his own head, and an excuse so he can lean on you!

Iroko (Claddagh Iroko) I call him a little wizard, the things he can do with his body is unreal! He’s not as big in stature as my other horses, but he always finds a way!

George (Quality old Joker) is so lovely, he is the most honest horse and one you can always count on. We have had 3 puissance wins together and were 2nd at the Hickstead Derby last year.

It's hard to have other interests outside of horses, because they take up so much of our time, if I’m not competing I’m taking my daughter Rosie out to a local show or trying to find the time to make our favourite meal lamb chops!
