Biography

My mother used to do 3 day Eventing and right from a small child, I enjoyed riding on the horses. I started at my local Pony Club and fell in love with show jumping but I would complain that the jump off arenas were “too small”, so we started to do a little bit of dressage to get my pony off my leg and into the corners to give me more space to get straight for jumps. This was a success – in fact I won my Pony Club Area ODE on my 13hh, against all the rest on horses. However, I also got caught by the Dressage bug (thanks to inspirational lessons first with Claire Moir and later with Jennie Loriston-Clarke) and the rest, as they say is history.

I enjoy the training and balance this with my love of other sports (like hockey) and also spending time with friends. I am hoping to go to University in the Autumn 2019 and study an economics course. I have selected Bristol so that I can come back easily to ride Tiny and Jacob. I love music (especially drum and bass) and one of my favourite ways to relax away from my horses is to go to live music events.

Competition History – I have been part of Team GB since I was 13. First with ponies, I was on the Nations Cup Teams with Grayswood Orlando (Team Silver in 2015) and also 1st Reserve European Championship Team 2016, and also won Hickstead CDI with Hagelkruis Valentijn. The wonderful Jeff (Walters Fable) took me through Juniors – again Nations Cup Team and short listed for the European Teams. Tiny Tempur is my Young Rider horse and together we have competed abroad many times with several podium finishes. In 2018 we were Dressage Master PSG Champions.

I have 2 horses in competitive work and several youngsters coming along too:

Tiny Tempur - Tiny was bred by Fiona Bigwood and joined the Corrie-Deane family in 2017.  He is by Raikano and Tiny was indeed a tiny foal (hence his name!) although now he is 17.1hh. We are working on U25 GP moves at home and competing successfully at PSG and Inter1. Tiny is quite a character! He was very shy when he arrived, but now likes to throw his feed bowl over his stable door to drop hints that it’s time for another meal. He is naturally very slim and needs 5 meals a day to keep weight on. Tiny has travelled all over Europe with Angus competing at CDIs and has had several podium finishes. He nearly always gets into the Kur on day 3  - and his music is by Tinie Tempah!

Jack Johnson (stable name Jacob) is by Johnson and is 6 years old and 17hh. He came from Germany as a just-broken 3 year old and moved in with his larger than life character. Jacob is very intelligent and loves life. He is a delight to train because he “gets” things so quickly and has a very trainable nature. He is working Medium level at home and is competing at Elementary in competitions. He has to be one of the most attractive horses around with his expressive movement (especially in canter) and judges love him.I am working with Paul Fielder to establish the basic training fully so that we can move up through the ranks. Angus hopes that Jacob will be his future Grand Prix Horse.

My young horses at home include a stunning Glamourdale/Don Juan deHuis 3 year old and a massive De Niro 4 year old.
