Biography

I have been riding since before I can remember, and have always had a love for horses. As a child I rode with Flamstead Pony Club, competing in Hunter Trials, One Day Events, hunting, camp, and everything else they had to offer! I always had a greater interest in dressage than the other kids, but also loved galloping around wildly!

I rode up to BE100, aiming towards FEI Eventing. At this point, I was advised to get a dressage pony in order to strengthen the phase for eventing. This pony ended up being DHI Langar, who I competed internationally for 3 years in the U16s. I soon decided to focus solely on Dressage!

Fast forward a few years, and I am currently studying History at Bristol University alongside riding at Young Rider level. While it can be a struggle to balance the two, I am lucky to have support from both sides.

Competition history:

Since 2013 I have competed for Great Britain at 18 competitions at Pony (U16), Junior (U18) and Young Rider (U21) Levels.

My greatest achievement to date is attending the 2015 Pony Europeans on DHI Langar. We won the first ever U21 Team Gold medal, and Langar and I came 14th Individually with 70.7%. In 2015 I had a World Ranking of 26.

Langar and I also did well at numerous Premier Leagues, High Profile shows, and Internationals. With him I gained my international PB of 73% in the freestyle at Joosland 2015, as well as several 70+% scores nationally.

Last year I was 2nd at Hickstead CDI, as well as some successful Premier Leagues - such as Wellington where I gained a 70+% score at Inter I.

More recently, I have come 4th at Keysoe CDI 2019, attended Joosland CDI, and  Long listed for the Europeans.

Horses:

My current ride is Bing, a 13 year old gelding, owned by Melise Witkin. I have trained him from Medium to Inter I level, competing at Junior, Young Rider and Inter I levels. He has such a cheeky character, with his main hobbies being grass, bum scratches, cuddles and kisses!

I am planning on having a young horse to train up, but am waiting to do this after university. I just don’t have the time for this while I’m studying!
