I am 15 years old and started riding in Devon when I was 7. I moved back to Ruislip in 2012 with my Mum, Dad and twin sister I was extremely lucky to be given the opportunity to ride at South Bucks RDA. My first coach was Clive Milkins and the first horse I rode was Forrester this combination helped me win my first RDA National championship at 10. I am still at South Bucks and now coached by Helen Burt. Helen has helped me to progress to Para dressage qualifiers and competitions which I am really enjoying. South Bucks has given me so many opportunities and I am very grateful to Di Redfern and the amazing facilities Grooms and volunteers.
I have dyskinetic and choreoathetoid cerebral palsy due to a brain injury at birth I also have Dystonia. This causes me to have constant involuntary and very inconvenient movements in my body especially my arms, which is worse under pressure It also affects my balance.
I love dressage and enjoy competing. Riding is a brilliant sport for people with CP. Great exercise and for me if gives Independence which is high on my list of priorities.
My horse partner is Criminal girl aka Mable. The sweetest and prettiest mare. Mable is just over 16 hands. Mable loves carrots and polos and is very dependable a great para horse. I also ride Harley at South Bucks. He is really comfortable to ride and good for helping my core strength. My plan is to have a horse of my own that I can hopefully qualify for next years Equissage Pulse Winter Championships (2020).
I have my grade 2 national classification and am off to Hartpury for my International classification in July. I can then start working on the Gold test.
I have won the RDA Nationals for the last 4 years and more recently started competing in Para qualifiers with a personal best of over 72%. I qualified for the Silver Equissage Pulse Summer Championships 2018 and came a close 3rd. I have already qualified for Equissage Pulse Summer Championships in August 2019.
I also enjoy swimming and going to the gym.
