Nicola Wilson

Nicola has been dedicated to horses since a young age, getting her first taste of competition with the Hurworth Pony Club, where she competed in numerous Pony Club games and triathlons. She's also a keen member of the Bedale Hunt, along with her brother, sister and mother who was also the hunt master for nine seasons.

Nicola got her first taste of success in 1997 when she was selected to ride as an individual for the Young Rider European Squad in Pratoni on Mr Bumble, a horse that Nicola had ridden since the age of 13. The combination then came 10th at Burghley in 1998. Nicola was first selected as a senior British team member at the 2009 European Championships in Fontainebleau (FRA) where she came home with a team gold medal riding Opposition Buzz.

Blair Castle has proved to be happy hunting ground for the British rider, having won the CIC3* class in 2009, 2010, 2011 and most recently in 2014 on her selected rider One Two Many.

In 2016, Nicola placed fourth in the Blenheim Palace International CCI3* and runner-up in the German CCI4* event, Luhmühlen with Bulana. They then went on to represent Great Britain at the European Championships in 2017, helping to secure team gold.
