James graduated with a degree in Sport Science from Sheffield Hallam in 2004 before doing a postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics.
Initially James worked as a clinical Dietitian with the National Health Service before moving into sports nutrition. In 2017, he received a Masters in Sports Nutrition from Liverpool John Moores University which led to an internship at British Cycling with the English Institute of Sport (EIS).
Working for the EIS, James offers support to athletes in a range of different sports and on various projects. Externally to the EIS, James provides nutrition support to professional cyclists, triathletes and boxers. James has recently worked as Performance Nutritionist with the British Para-Swimming team.
James supports athletes with their nutrition and hydration plans and works closely with the rest of the Human Sport Science and Medicine team to advise athletes on how to optimise their health
